Changelog
Release history of ComIO.Studio β newest first.
1.1.9 2026-09-22
Improvements
- Save session and Load session in the File menu β keep a whole recording in a file, open it again later or send it to someone else.
- A loaded recording behaves like live traffic: you can read it in any display mode.
1.1.8 2026-09-22
Improvements
- Modbus RTU: the send bar and the terminal now know every public function code of the standard (01β08, 0B, 0C, 0F, 10, 11, 14β18, 2B), each with its own field names β codes such as 08 (diagnostics) no longer have to go out as a custom function.
- Number format markers in the send bar and in the Modbus view: click `dec` / `hex` in a column heading to convert that column. Numeric fields start in decimal, raw bytes in hexadecimal, and your choice is remembered between sessions.
- One-based addressing (`dec+1`): type register 77 exactly as the device manual prints it and the app sends address 76.
- Signed register values (`Β±dec`): β100 goes out as `FF9C`, and the Modbus view reads `FF9C` back as β100.
- Modbus exception replies are drawn in the warning colour instead of the error colour β a device saying "no such register" is answering, not failing.
- An incomplete Modbus frame is visible before you send it: the CRC cell stays empty, CMD is disabled, and the heading of the column at fault is highlighted.
- The FC window accepts custom function codes 1β127, the same range as the send bar.
- 3D waterfall chart: the camera travels to a requested angle over a second instead of jumping there.
Fixed
- Terminal history fixes when the application window is covered or minimized.
- Fixes in Modbus frame splitting and in the function list.
- AI assistant: tool card and result handling fixes.
- Stability and consistency fixes across the app.
1.1.7 2026-09-18

- Security and reliability improvements in the account service.
1.1.6 2026-09-10

1.1.2 2026-09-02
Fixed
- Fixed 3D waterfall chart rendering in application releases.
1.1.1 2026-09-02
Improvements
- Added access to the applicationβs working folder picker from the title bar and File menu.
- Undo and Redo in text fields across the app, from the right-click menu and from the Edit menu
- Search in the Lua editor with every match highlighted; Ctrl+F no longer opens the browser's own search
Fixed
- Improved access to recordings in Documents, Desktop, and Downloads after granting folder permissions on macOS.
- Opening a recording that fails now says why, instead of looking like a dead click
- macOS permission prompts describe what the app actually does with a folder; the microphone request is gone, since nothing in the app uses it
- Pasting text no longer wipes the undo history
1.1.0 2026-09-01
Improvements
- Added a measurement charts tab with scalar traces, XY plots, and spectrum waterfalls. Saved recordings can be reopened with their colours, units, and axis labels.
- Added support for browsing long recordings with an overview and detailed data when zooming into a selected section.
- Two pin buttons hold either end of the time axis, so a running measurement can travel like tape, stretch as it grows, or stand still while you look at something
- Lua scripts can record measurements and show them on the chart
- Added dedicated terminal views for ASCII, HEX, Modbus RTU, and VT100.
- Improved terminal scrolling performance with large amounts of data.
- Columns, filters and search across the whole buffer, with per-sender counters on the status bar
- Every row unfolds to the raw bytes that went over the wire, and a frame with a bad checksum is marked instead of silently passing
- Sending rebuilt β text and hex side by side in one view with live conversion, so you see both without switching modes
- Modbus RTU frames are filled in as fields and the checksum is calculated for you; sent frames stay in a history you can reopen
- Custom function codes, per-frame line endings, loop sending with its own interval, and sending straight from a file
- The window is now organised into tabs with an icon bar: connection, terminal, macros, triggers, scripts, charts and the programmer each get their own place, two tab groups side by side, and tabs can be dragged where you want them
- Improved logging during data reception and added a warning when disk writes cannot keep up.
- Lua editor in its own tab, with a run button on the bar
- Triggers save the moment you change them and can be added straight from the bar
- The programmer's overlay windows became sections inside its tab
- Connection statistics sit on the status bar instead of taking up a panel
- The AI assistant now receives a description of what each tool returns, loop sending has stated limits, and permission prompts carry a visible countdown
- Refreshed icons, tooltips and controls throughout, with all 19 themes updated to match
Fixed
- Improved persistence of serial port settings across restarts, including externally initiated connections.
- Timestamps come from the port itself, so the terminal and the buffer agree on when data arrived
- Improved splitting of outgoing data at the separator.
- The transmit line ending belongs to the format, so it no longer shows up as a stray character in the terminal
- ASCII shows characters even for data typed in hex, and HEX shows bytes without breaking the row layout
- Selection in the terminal is properly visible, and the scrollbar behaves like a scrollbar β the track jumps the slider to the cursor
- Corrected dropdown and tooltip positioning when using interface scaling.
- Improved the display and handling of consecutive tool approval requests.
- Chart recordings respond to clicks reliably while the list refreshes
- Stability and consistency fixes across the programmer, logging and the Gemini engine
1.0.28 2026-07-28

- Increased the default response generation limit for cloud AI models.

Improvements
- New calculation toolbox for the AI β CRC and checksums, Modbus RTU and SLIP frames, number and register conversions, hex dumps, link timing, ASCII/NMEA parsing
